State-of-the-Art Technology

The new hospital’s extensive array of cutting-edge equipment includes:

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy Unit

This kidney stone treatment requires no incision and can often be performed as a one-hour outpatient procedure. With this device in-house, patients will no longer face delays in treatment or the inconvenience of traveling to an offsite location.

CT Scanners

The new hospital’s Radiology Department features new in-house imaging technologies, including:
  • 3 three computed tomography (CT) scanners, in addition to the existing portable head CT scanner.
  • A 16-slice positron emission tomography (PET)/CT, allowing simultaneous visualization of the body’s form and function.
  • 3 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners.
  • In addition, the new hospital has the only STATSCAN Critical Imaging System in the state of California. This state-of-the-art technology will give our trauma physicians top-quality digital X-rays of the entire body in 11 seconds with minimal irradiation to the patient.

    Integrated Operating Rooms

Integrated operating rooms free up much-needed floor space by providing surgical equipment—including advanced endoscopic video technology—on moveable, joystick-controlled overhead booms. Our integration allows the OR suites to be more quickly set up for any procedure.

All operating room (OR) suites have a number of fixed and mobile video monitors with a video feed from each scope. Some rooms also have the ability to videoconference surgeries to sites outside of the hospital.

The integrated ORs improve safety, facilitate the latest surgical techniques, and improve efficiency, all of which translate into the highest-quality care for our patients.
